This design was inspired from Penobscot Double bows. They are credited by many as having developed the first compound bows and have been making those for over a 1000 years, long before they were used in medeival europe.
Drawn in pencil, Inked in India Ink, colored/painted in Painter, and final merging of layers in Photoshop. I added a subtle leaf motif to reinforce the woodland theme.
When I designed this I imagined that it would begin to glow and energy would start to build up near the arrow heads as the bow was drawn, showing energy that was about to imbue the arrows with extra stopping power.
